Claro Scientific, LLC is focused on commercializing a platform diagnostic system that analyzes samples and delivers better information, faster and at lower cost than other systems on the market or under development. Claro is located in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Since operations began in Q4 2006, Claro has rapidly advanced SpectraWave™, its patented optical profiling diagnostic system, through a combination of scientific and clinical proof-of-concept studies, engineering programs, customer-driven development projects, collaborations, patents and technology licenses. These efforts prove that SpectraWave delivers more data and actionable information about the composition and character of a sample in less than five minutes without the cost of reagents, consumables or highly trained professionals. Claro has developed SpectraWave to be both portable and scalable. This further differentiates SpectraWave from other systems because the same technology can be brought to the sample/process, such as field analysis, or used to analyze batches of samples in laboratories. Information about a sample is contained within an electronic data file called an optical profile. While the physical sample is often discarded, this quantitative and detailed information can be reanalyzed to trend a sample or process over time, perform post hoc analyses or support studies on populations of samples. Since 2006 Claro has developed proof-of-concept and clinical evidence for a range of biotechnology and medical diagnostic applications, including blood, blood culture, urine, protein and cellular analysis. As a result of this work, SpectraNet™, Claro’s proprietary database of optical profiles, characterizes a diverse set of micron and sub-micron particles including bacteria, fungi, proteins and cells. The database is being expanded continuously through research, consulting projects and clinical studies.
